There are at least two separate studies that show clear evidence that Tai Chi exercise program for 12 weeks is enough to boost the immune system and lowers blood sugar levels for people with diabetes. This traditional martial art from China has a unique movement that combines that combines breathing and gentle movements to enhance relaxation.
Two research conducted by experts in Taiwan and Australia was published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
The first research conducted in Taiwan compared 30 patients with diabetes with 30 healthy people. During 12 weeks, all participants learned 37 Tai Chi movements under the direction of a instructor.
